This contraptions purpose is to open up my hips – or specifically my Hip Flexors.
I’ve spent the last 20 years sitting at a workstation thumping at a keyboard – there’s some claims that long periods of sitting can shorten the hip flexors – I have no idea if that’s true (*1) . I do know however that my hips are locked up and it’s preventing me from performing a windmill like I used to. Which is why I have a series of stretches incorporated into my morning routine (again thanks Vicki!). I’m realistic, I understand it took me 20 years to get here… its gonna take a bit of effort, discipline and motivation to get my hip flexibility back. When I do…I’m getting my b-boy crew back together.
(*1) – There’s many claims, yet from what I can see little evidence.
